New Year’s Eve Ball at the Hofburg Vienna 2019

The New Year’s Eve Ball at the Hofburg Vienna on 31 December 2019 creates a spectacular start to the ball season and this year’s theme to mark the 50th anniversary is “Time to celebrate”. Right from the opening, you’ll enjoy a unique selection of ballet, song and a virtuoso instrumental interlude. Highlights include the premiere performance of a new composition by the internationally renowned composer Pavel Singer at the opening of the ball. At midnight, visitors can look forward to a magnificent setting with the ringing of the Pummerin bell in St. Stephen’s Cathedral, the traditional Blue Danube Waltz, a breathtaking view of the fireworks over Vienna and the popular dancing of the quadrille in the imperial state rooms of the world-famous Vienna Hofburg. Top-ranking Austrian and international artists, numerous renowned orchestras and bands as well as captivating dance music from waltz to jazz underscore the high-quality New Year’s Eve program in the former imperial winter residence.
