Minou Bosua, together with actor Eelco Smits, investigates the role of the father in their family. They have a son together. Eelco is the biological father, but does not raise the child, Minou is not the biological mother but the educating parent of their son.
In Not the Fathers they question in a humorous and at the same time even shy way what 'fatherhood' actually is or could be, within this family structure. The traditional roles and patterns are passionately turned on their head. What family are we becoming and what do we take with us from our own upbringing? A creative clash of two lives that have not met until the eve of their son's birth.
