FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championship 2017

Vienna is set to become the world capital of beach volleyball when the FIVB sets up its nets on the Danube Island ready for the Volleyball World Championship from July 28 – August 6, 2017.

For 10 whole days the Austrian capital will act as World Championship HQ, hosting all of the group games and the finals in a purpose-built volleyball arena on the Danube Island. The Danube Island is the perfect venue for the event: in addition to the matches, it will provide a memorable backdrop for long beach nights and a youth sport and leisure exhibition.

The world's 48 best teams per gender battle it out for the prizes in 208 games.

Fan zone: fans who are not lucky enough to get hold of tickets in the stadium can follow all the matches live on big screens in the fan zone.
Youth exhibition: a range of sporting attractions, live shows and leading exhibitors will turn the exhibition zone into an experience to remember.
Party zone: in addition to the opening ceremony and closing event, the event arena will host various other highlights over the course of the tournament.
On court entertainment: fans will be at the heart of the action during the games – audience participation will get the stadium rocking and create an incredible atmosphere.
