New Year’s Eve Ball at the Hofburg Vienna 2016
The New Year’s Eve Ball at the Hofburg Vienna on 31 December 2016 creates a spectacular start to the ball season and is held this year under the banner “The Rhythm of Vienna”. Besides a rousing opening to the ball, visitors can look forward to a magnificent setting at midnight with the ringing of the Pummerin bell in St. Stephen’s Cathedral, the traditional Blue Danube Waltz, a breathtaking view of the fireworks over Vienna and the popular dancing of the quadrille in the imperial state rooms of the world-famous Vienna Hofburg. Top-ranking artists from the Vienna State Opera and Volksoper Wien, numerous renowned orchestras and bands as well as captivating dance music from waltz to jazz underscore the high-quality New Year’s Eve program in the former imperial winter residence.
