FOTO WIEN 2023
With around 300 events at 110 locations and 350 artists from 25 countries, the festival, which is part of the European Month of Photography, is entering its tenth round. For the first time, FOTO ARSENAL WIEN is organizing FOTO WIEN - with festival base in the MuseumsQuartier.
For an entire month, ninty program partners—museums, cultural institutions, galleries, and educational establishments—will participate in the tenth edition of FOTO WIEN 2023. During the month, Vienna will host a festival of visual media, with exhibitions, presentations, and extremely varied special events held all over the city.
Photography Lies
In 2023 FOTO WIEN will focus on the subject Photography Lies. The discourse will be conducted on various levels: How does photography capture our world in analog and digital pictures? Who is responsible for the production and distribution of images? What effect do pictures have on us? Which pictures can we trust? How can we use photography in a responsible way?
