The Mozart House concerts take place in the monastery of the Teutonic Knights, where Mozart lived and worked in the service of Archbishop Colloredo in 1781.
The Sala Terrena, the oldest concert hall in Vienna, with its frescoes in the style of Venetian late Renaissance, is the perfect setting for the performance of chamber music of the Viennese Classical period of the 18th century: the Mozart Ensemble Wien plays divertimenti, serenades and great string quartets of the Viennese Classical period.

The concerts at Mozarthaus were founded in 1998 by violinist Claudio Bentes. With more than 200 performances a year, the Mozart Ensemble has become a fixture on the Viennese music scene.
