As a young musician, he played with greats such as Duke Ellington, Freddie Hubbard, Woody Shaw, Art Blakey, and Miles Davis. Garrett influenced an entire generation of saxophonists with his unmistakable sound. From his hometown of Detroit, he brings with him a deep connection to soul, blues, and spirituality—musical roots that continue to shape his career to this day.
