After several presentations by collectors, the entrepreneur and art collector Ursula Simacek is the first woman to make her collection publicly accessible in the Factory of the Künstlerhaus. The title of the show says it all. Simacek is part of an important tradition of strong women such as Berta Zuckerkandl, a Viennese journalist and salonière who exemplified a passion for art 100 years ago.

What began with the acquisition of lively Pop Art works has now grown into a carefully curated collection of high-quality avant-garde art with a focus on Austrian, German, French and African contemporary art. Inseparably linked to this is the promotion of up-and-coming artists, whose works also find their way into the Simacek Collection.

With the presentation of the third Art House Simacek Award as part of Passion, Simacek offers young talents a public stage and art enthusiasts an easy introduction to collecting.

Artists: Leilah Babirye, Cesar, Amoako Boafo, Louise Deininger, Franz Grabmayr, Mary Hassanpour, Jakob Lena Knebl, Markus Lüpertz, Andy Warhol, Sabine Wiedenhofer, Erwin Wurm, and others.
