Operation Collage
If we describe collage as a mere technique, we are wrong. Collage as a form of artistic expression presupposes a juxtaposition of signifiers - carriers of meaning - a semiotic collision. This happens even before the process of gluing. It is therefore first and foremost a mental operation, an intervention in language and in language, be it visual or linguistic. The mental processes have already glued together what the hand will eventually glue. Like all adventures, "Operation Collage" therefore begins in the mind: the world is subjected to an intervention - satirical, poetic, political, formal, but in any case subversive.
