Arnold Schönberg: Phantasy for Violin with Piano Accompaniment op. 47

The concert in honor of Friedrich Cerha, who would have celebrated his 99th birthday in February, presents the entire spectrum of the compositional œuvre of this long-time doyen of contemporary music in Austria. The works on the program span a wide arc that extends from the "Buch von der Minne", begun in 1946, to piano and chamber music, and finally to the "Späte Gesänge", composed in 2018. The "Altes Lied" is also one of Cerha’s early works, and was written almost at the same time as Arnold Schönberg’s Phantasy, op. 47.
