It happened in 79 A.D. The southern Italian trading town of Pompeii was one of the richest and most beautiful cities of the Roman Empire at the time. Situated on a small plateau about ten kilometers south of Mount Vesuvius, the inhabitants enjoy a charming view of the Gulf of Naples. Nobody suspects that Pompeii is about to experience one of the greatest tragedies of antiquity: the eruption of the volcano Vesuvius.

The immersive exhibition The Last Days of Pompeii takes visitors on a spectacular journey through time, right into the heart of bustling city scenes, impressive villas and sandy arenas where brave gladiators are celebrated for their heroic deeds. Using modern technology and captivating virtual reality experiences, the history of Pompeii is brought to life for visitors in a playful way and becomes an experience for all the senses.
