The second performance of the complete Schönberg string quartets as part of Wien Modern is taking place under inverse conditions: instead of looking a century into the past, as Quatuor Diotima played Beethoven in 2016, the Arditti Quartet is looking a century into the future and presenting four prominent premieres and masterpieces from its 50-year quartet history at Konzerthaus and Musikverein.
