Her mass composition for the Wiener Hofmusikkapelle is the first time in the 500-year history of the country's oldest musical institution that a mass by a woman has been performed that was composed especially for this orchestra.

Johanna Doderer combines the tradition of the Vienna Hofmusikkapelle with her own handwriting: "There were clear guidelines for the composition, the Latin text, the instrumentation and the duration were fixed. My compositional language also means combining the demands of contemporary music with these specifications. I would describe the composition as new music that does not exclude tonality," she says.
The composer also emphasizes: "It is a special pleasure for me to compose for such a historically interesting and important place as the Vienna Hofburgkapelle, because the acoustics in it and the rooms are unique."
