Kodo

The Kodo ensemble's aim is to take the traditional Japanese drumming art of taiko to all corners of the world, to explore its inexhaustible rhythmic possibilities and to preserve it as a living, ever-changing art form.
On the occasion of its 40th anniversary, Kodo's programme "Warabe" focuses on its classical repertoire and reflects on the musical aesthetics of its early years. It presents various simple forms of taiko expression in which the ensemble's unique sound and rhythmic power come into their own particularly well. In 2024, Kodo is touring Europe for the first time with "Warabe".
