The exhibition Auf den Schultern von Riesinnen (On the Shoulders of Giantesses) features the work of women artists reflecting on the female and queer creativity of previous generations. For too long, the work of painters, sculptors, designers, writers, musicians, and other artistically creative women has received little attention. In recent decades, they have increasingly been given the space they deserve. Now, in the twenty-first century, there is no longer a lack of role models for female artists. Rather, these creative women inscribe themselves into the female artistic genealogy.
