Experience, sense, and enjoy history and garden art – that's what Laxenburg Castle Park near Vienna is all about. With its huge park landscape, it is one of the most important historical landscape gardens in Europe.
Apart from numerous memorials, follies, natural monuments, and picturesque garden spaces, the castle park is majestically crowned by the Franzensburg.

The Franzensburg is also called "Austria's little treasure house". The history of Laxenburg Castle Park reaches far back into the 13th century. Laxenburg took on its present form in the 18th and 19th centuries. Emperor Franz Joseph and Empress Elisabeth spent their honeymoon here.

For all culture enthusiasts, Franzensburg Castle is an absolute must. Within the mighty walls of this major work of romantic historicism, you can learn all about the splendor and fate of the Habsburg dynasty during the museum tours, daily at 11:00, 12:00, 14:00 and 15:00 until November 3, 2024.

As a special highlight, the guided tour "up the High Tower and over the roofs" takes place daily at 13.00 and 16.00 in good weather. During this tour you have a breathtaking 360° panorama of Vienna over the Vienna Woods to the Schneeberg and the Leitha Mountains.
