For the fourth time, the Vienna Symphony Orchestra's Prater Picnic will take place on the Kaiserwiese in the Prater and will also open the Vienna Summer of Culture - it goes without saying that Johann Strauss will set the tone in his anniversary year. Especially as Strauss was very attached to the Prater and performed there with his orchestra in the venues of the time.
The program includes works by Reinhard Summerer, Clemens Kinigadner, Cy Coleman, Johann Strauss Sohn, Georg Breinschmid, George Gershwin, Leonard Bernstein, Ervin Drake, Cole Porter and Franz von Suppé.
