Gustav Mahler: Symphony No. 3 in D minor for large orchestra, alto solo, boys' choir and women's choir (1893-1896)

Teodor Currentzis' new project "Utopia" brings together soloists and concertmasters from orchestras around the world to form an ensemble. It sees itself as a "unique creative community of like-minded people dedicated to the search for the best sound and the true spirit of the musical work." "We are entering a more experimental field [...], renouncing the familiar and venturing into the new," Currentzis said. The multinational orchestra made its Konzerthaus debut in October 2022, and on June 9 and 11 the musicians will dedicate themselves to Gustav Mahler's monumental Third Symphony.
