The story of the Neugebauer family, who struggle with a marital crisis, a cranky grandfather and a son who is far removed from reality in the Meidlinger Gemeindebau, reaches its bizarre climax at the parish coffee on Mother's Day, of all days. Stolen savings books, unhappy crushes and a dead guinea pig - in Mother's Day, everyday problems meet social issues that seem to have remained unresolved for 30 years: But what's more important is what the neighbors think anyway. In the production, the façade of the petit-bourgeois, ideal world in the municipal buildings of the 90s, which in Vienna itself still seem stuck in the 80s, crumbles: between mullets, moustaches, floral prints and track jackets, a tie-wearing Edwin Neugebauer struggles with his hedge clippers and his place in society. Trashy, anarchic and loopy, the characters delight in their everyday absurdity. The stage version of the Austrian film classic entertains without losing its humor and satirical punchlines. A bitterly wicked Austrian comedy "for the whole family"!
