UNWEIT I took place in 2023 at the Produzent:innengalerie plan.d. in Düsseldorf. Artists and two art historians from both galleries worked together to develop an exhibition that is now being shown, slightly modified, at Fotogalerie Wien.
UNWEIT II. The term "not far" is interpreted and processed by the artists in many different ways. However, they almost always deal with the theme of "space". Works are shown that deal with proximity and distance. The geographical distance can be overcome through the joint conception of the exhibitions. In addition to the physical distance, mental and social aspects also play a role. The social role play moves between distance and closeness, being alone and being together, similarity and difference. These pairs of opposites are addressed by some of the artists.
