Roméo Montaigu and Juliette Capulet fall in love at a party. As the two families are enemies to the core, this love and the wedding that is soon to take place must remain secret. As Juliette is to be married off by her unsuspecting father, she takes a drug that puts her into a death-like sleep. The mock-dead woman is buried in the crypt. Roméo, who believes her to be dead, takes a poison potion at her grave. When Juliette wakes up and sees her dying husband in front of her, she stabs herself.
