In its endeavour to open up the opera house to all generations, the Vienna State Opera is bringing its first child-friendly version of Rossini’s popular musical comedy »Il barbiere di Siviglia« to the stage for a one-hour performance. Austrian actor Andy Hallwaxx will narrate the abridged version with new interludes for director Grischa Asagaroff’s entertaining and colourful creation in the grand main building (the play will take place in front of the Iron Curtain). It is sung – in German – by members of the ensemble and members of the Opera Studio of the Vienna State Opera.
