Anna Volovitch, piano

Clara Schumann (1819-1896), one of the most important pianists of the 19th century, played with preference on pianos from the Bösendorfer company. In the course of an evening dedicated to her life, her relationship with Robert Schumann, her compositions and her numerous concert tours, the image of this multifaceted artist will be drawn. Although her compositions echo the musical language of her husband Robert, she developed her own unmistakable style.

Clara Schumann's repertoire included the piano works of Johann Sebastian Bach and Ludwig van Beethoven, which were already "classical" in their time, as well as the pianistic oeuvre of her contemporaries Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, Robert Schumann and Frédéric Chopin. Last but not least, she established a lifelong friendship with Johannes Brahms in Vienna.
