36th International Tourist Guide Day 2025
2025 marks the 200th anniversary of the birth of Johann Strauss Sohn. Hardly anyone shaped the Viennese music scene of the 19th century as much as the Strauss dynasty, which included Johann Strauss son, his father and his two brothers Josef and Eduard. Their traces can still be seen and above all heard in Vienna today, and not only here, as they have helped the Viennese waltz to achieve its enduring popularity worldwide.
The guides are therefore dedicating their World Day 2025 to these extraordinary musicians, all four of whom performed at the venue: the former Casino Zögernitz (Döblinger Hauptstraße 76, 1190 Vienna), now the House of Strauss.
On February 23, 2025 from 10.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m., there will be guided tours inside the venue as well as in the nearby Döbling District Museum, and two outdoor tours through the 19th district will also be offered.
Visitors can also attend various lectures in the beautifully restored ballroom of the House of Strauss.
The "Inclusive World Day" will take place on February 21, 2025, also at the House of Strauss. This day will be dedicated to inclusive cultural education with a program for deaf, visually impaired and blind people as well as people with dementia.
All events are free of charge and no registration is necessary.
