Penniless Nemorino is in love with wealthy Adina. In a bid to increase his chances, he buys a “love elixir” (in reality, Bordeaux wine) from the wonder doctor Dulcamara. His appeal is, however, increased by something else: an unexpected inheritance. Yet, with or without elixir, wine and inheritance, it seems that Adina loves Nemorino anyway. Nothing stands in the way of a happy ending!
